Sometimes i get annoyed at myself, because i think during the day "hey, i wanna post about that tonight" but when i sit down and get distracted by The Internet, i forget everything. At least i'm not getting distracted by... uh... phantom pains in my amputated leg. That would be worse.
Ooh, i just wrone a whole bunch about marraige and stuff... but it's more of a downer than this little thing... so i moved it.
Katrina loves hitting the keyboard, which makes chatting with friends interesting, since often they get messages like "vvhccc...............xxz01.01" and i have to explain that she's banging on the keyboard. The funniest time was when she had found the backspace key, somehow... and was hitting it while i was typing. I had to type really fast. So today i gave her a keyboard to hit. Don't worry,
it's indestructible.
In other news, today, at two years and eight months old, Houston drew his very first representational drawing! It's of me!!! I'm so happy! I'll post a big picture of it when Karen gets done using the scanner. Yay! Okay, if you want to read my rant about the sanctity of marraige and politics, go click the "read more" part. I said, on a whim, "Houston, draw daddy!" So he looked at me and said "okay" or something - i don't remember if he says okay. He drew the partially collapsed balloon shape, carefully drew the left eye, then drew the other eye. He drew the mouth (which is the U-shape... that's not the nose) and then seemed to be done. He decided after looking at me, however, to add the tiny circle below the mouth. He said it's a chin. I'm so totally proud of him.
Okay, back to what i wrote way a long time ago:
Here's something i can write about: yesterday i was at the same tree-house play center we visited today, and this lady was sitting down looking grumpy. Now, five years ago, i would not have been able to notice that she was being grumpy, but i've been married longer now, and have honed my ability to sense when girls are grumpy. So back in the "who-cares" part of my brain i wondered why she was grumpy. Then this dude with a very "stylish" military-spikey haircut and baggy pants and sports-themed jacket (and sunglasses and pierced ears - obviously a vain person) came up and started talking to the girl.
What began as a hushed, but not cordial conversation turned into a audible (but politely quiet) argument, where the girl was saying "I'm tired of hearing all over who my husband been sleeping with and who he took home last night". They must have been a seperated couple meeting at the play area to "spend time" with their kids. There were two. The discussion went nowhere, with the yahoo crackerhead dude whipping out his celly every five minutes, and the lady pouting on the floor. Yes, i'm prejudiced against the guys in pretty much all relationship type situations. Men Are Yahoo Crackerhead Losers... mostly.
Then when i was feeding Katrina and decided to turn the TV on at around six thirty or something, hoping that The Simpsons would be on, i heard Mr. President Bush talking during some speech about "protect the sanctity of marraige". I got all mad and turned the TV off. "Sanctity of marriage." Late!!! The sanctity of marraige has been trampled on, cut up with dull scissors, thrown in a septic tank, tied to a traffic cone, and burned by acid. And it was all done by straight people like us, not a bunch of leering homosexuals.
If we want to protect the sanctity of marraige, why don't we amend the US constitution outlawing cheating on your wife? How about a constitutional amendment to outlaw getting pregnant before you're married? Bah i just hate politics. It makes me so mad.
