monday off

No, we didn't go snowboarding today, that's an old picture from the Sunday before last. I just got them.
Anyway, it's still really weird for me to have Monday off. Still getting used to it. So today i kind of didn't do anything besides watch the kids for a while, sleep, shop, watch the kids at Mom and Dad's house... and come home. I really need to make Mondays more productive. That'll be my goal for next Monday. Make it more productive.
Karen let me sleep about a million hours today, so probably i won't be tired tomorrow. Sweet.
Remember the eighties? Yesterday or Saturday i was talking to one of my coworkers about the 80's, and she said "nothing good came out of the eighties" and i had a poignant memory of me saying the same thing about the seventies. I'm about ten years older than her, so the Fashion Wheel predicts that she should have that opinion, but it's simply fascinating that the Fashion Wheel of Opinion should be so unerring. I remember discussing this with Karen, and how so many styles that were popular in the 70's are just not flattering. I still hold that shaggy, forehead-and-ear-covering hair is not flattering. Low rise jeans are only really attractive on girls who have sickly body fat percentages. Flares... they make your thighs and bum look big, but then they make feet look smaller, which is good. Bigger thighs and bum are also good right now, i guess.
I'm thinking hard about pegged jeans and MC Hammer pajama pants, and i admit that they looked a little goofy. And how about super high waisted girls pants? I'm not sure how we thought that a great spread of cloth directly above the troublesome body-leg junction was a good thing, but that was a pretty common style. With tucked in shirts as well.
Some 80's styles i can say i enjoyed - baggy off-shoulder sweaters, bangly jewelry, and bunchy socks. Ooh, and suit jackets with the sleeves pushed up on the forearms. Just kidding about that last one. And any guy who wants to show off his narrow ankles can go ahead and peg the cuffs of his Levi 501 jeans. I know i did.
